All HF transceivers have one small problem; a small speaker in the top. You may have spent $1,500 to $10,000 for a new HF transceiver and it has a tiny speaker that is almost useless. That speaker faces upwards, lacks fidelity and lacks volume. Typically, it is 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter and just doesn't do the job. If you are like me, my hearing is not what it used to be. Forty three years of chasing DX has taken its toll. I found this speaker to be the answer. It has great fidelity and great volume. My HF transceiver never sounded so good.

This transceiver speaker is the answer to helping your transceiver sound like it should. The Sound Baby has two front firing speakers powered by a 14 watt amplifier with 7 watts on each channel. There's enough volume to fill a room. The Sound Baby plugs into the speaker jack of your transceiver. There is a treble tone control and a volume control on the front. You can remove a lot of band noise (hiss) by adjusting the tone control.

The speaker box is approximately 9 inches by 5 inches by 4 inches. It made of half inch thick MDF and has a simulated wood grain veneer. It weighs about 4 pounds.

For transceivers will dual receive, VFO A will be on the left and VFO B will be on the right. So, it is perfect for split frequency operation.

You can also play recordings through its built-in USB port. Just put any MP3 files on a portable storage device with a USB connection (like a thumb drive). Plug that into the front or rear of the speaker system and it will play automatically. There are three buttons on the front that Play/Pause, Previous and Next.

On the back there is a switch that determines the audio source; MP3, Audio (from your transceiver) or USB (from your computer). Also on the back is the audio input jack, headphone jack, recorder output jack and power supply jack. The Sound Baby requires 12 volts at about 1 amp.
