Emergency Antenna System

It is a truly amazing emergency portable antenna system. While working on an antenna system for one of our military customers, we decided to adapt it for amateur radio use. The Just in Case is specifically designed as a complete antenna system that can be easily taken to a location and setup in less than 5 minutes. If you think you will ever have to respond to an emergency, this is the antenna system for you!

This new and innovative antenna system from High Sierra is the first to cover all HF amateur radio bands and VHF/UHF in a very small and portable package. Over the last 14 years, High Sierra has produced more than 17,000 motorized HF antennas that are in use around the world. This is the first time we have included VHF and UHF as part of the system.

One of the truly innovative ideas for this system was to have it so compact that it can be stored in a plastic carrying case that measures only 9 x 14 x 20 inches and weighs about 12 pounds. It's there Just in Case! The little red tripod stands about 33 inches high. It folds for storage to a length of about 17 inches. The yellow Responder Motorized HF Antenna is very similar to the Sidekick, has a short yellow whip, a small yellow capacity hat, a yellow quick disconnect and a standard yellow control box with power poles installed. The Just in Case can be deployed in less than 5 minutes.

The Just in Case has:

The motorized HF Responder Antenna tunes from 80 to 6 meters, has a short whip, capacity hat and quick disconnect included
There is also a separate VHF/UHF antenna
There are two 50 foot lengths of coax with connectors installed are included. One is for the VHF/UHF antenna and the other coax is for the motorized HF Responder Antenna. Inside that coax are the two motor wires.

HF wire radials are 8 wires 10 feet long and provide tuning over the complete HF spectrum
The Responder Standard Controller has Power Pole connectors so it is ready to connect
